Mezban: Reviews & Ratings
This restaurant has impressed me over the course of many visits, especially with their BBQ items. The chicken tikka, malai boti, and chicken lollipop are truly amazing and a must-try.However, I've noticed that their vegetable dishes often seem old and are typically reheated, which is disappointing. Additionally, the appetizers could use improvement; the chicken corn soup is served daily with different salads, but they lack taste and appeal. Moreover, the restaurant's interior feels quite outdated, particularly the restroom area, which needs significant attention due to an unpleasant odor. Overall, while the BBQ offerings are fantastic, there are several areas that require improvement to enhance the dining experience.i have experience aftaar as well not very impressive
Food is very good. Came due to a gathering. Majority is good. Rice was kinda undercooked, but was able to mix to make it taste better. Desserts were nice like the Kheer. Do try coming, but was more buffet so be very hungry when you visit.
Overall, a good experience. The food was tasty, the service was attentive, and the prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes. Everything we tried was flavorful and came out fresh. The only disappointment was the koyla karahi. It didn’t have that signature smoky, charcoal flavor you expect from a true koyla dish and tasted below average compared to the rest of the meal. With a little improvement on that item, this place would easily be a top spot. Still worth visiting for the overall quality and service.
I ordered nihari and haleem for takeout, and both were absolutely delicious. The two haleem plates were a great deal at just $12.99—something you don’t often find in Houston. The packaging was well-done, preventing any spills. The dishes had a rich, authentic flavor, clearly made with homemade spices. The tandoori naans were also generously sized and complemented the meal perfectly.
Took my friends visiting from Florida who were craving Pakistani food ,the dishes here were delicious and authentic! We really enjoyed the meal. I’d love to see a wider variety of desserts on the menu, such as Indian sweets like ladoo, kulfi, or jalebi etc . Pani puri water should improve , i suggest something with mint chilli water & tamarind water to pair with.
Had lunch on a weekday. The earliest is better as first few batches of food taste the best as I understood. Many options and they taste absolutely amazing. Goat biryani was perfect, tender falls-off meat. Beef haleem was spicy but super good. Two types of chicken kebab, good. Thai vegetable egg soup was totally unexpected in this type of buffet and it tasted so good. The panipuri, chaat, dahi bora, all tasted good. Didn’t get to try gravy items with puri, will do next time. I loved the dessert “dudh dulari” combination of milk custard, semolina and fruits. Last but not least the staff was really attentive and worked hard to make sure everything running smoothly.
visited Mezban in Houston for the first time after a friend recommended it, especially for their malai boti. While it wasn’t part of the buffet that day, the store manager went the extra mile and had it made fresh just for me, which I really appreciated. This place is a solid, affordable buffet experience. The service stood out the most. Every staff member was incredibly sweet, kind, and accommodating. If anything wasn’t fresh or warm, they had no problem preparing a fresh batch upon request. The buffet had a wide range of options Appetizers like pani puri, chicken club sandwiches, and even baba ghanoush Soups and salads for those who like to start light. Main dishes including fried, BBQ, and grilled meat, chicken, fish, Naan made fresh to order. Chicken biryani and butter chicken both flavorful and satisfying. Desserts (two desi options) and karak chai to finish the meal. Highlights for me were the malai boti, chicken tandoori, and butter chicken. The pani puri lacked a bit of flavor, but everything else was decent overall. You can also order à la carte if you prefer non-buffet items. Bonus: They offer a wide variety of drinks and the seating area is spacious. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you're craving South Asian comfort food in a casual, welcoming environment.
My husband liked it, thought the food was good and the flavors were authentic. I am not a person who enjoys spicy food, and i got ahold of something quite spicy straight away, which kind of ruined my desire to explore the buffet. But what I did eat was pretty good, although the chicken was a bit dry. The dining room is simple and showing its age, but clean. Service was friendly and efficient, used plates were cleared quickly and they made sure we didn't run out of naan. Which was nice and fresh, by the way.
